Hi there!
First of all, I am glad that I've found this community and let me say thank you for the hard work of the developers, coders, users, fans; everybody who provide all this awesome content, BFG THX!!
About my nitpicky questions, here are three four 5 of them:
- How can I set the speed of the camera controls? I mean when I press W,A,S,D,Ctrl,Space my view moves very fast. Can I slow it down somehow? It must be a bit of a n00b Q but that's what I am:)
- I've found out that if I use "cl_avidemo 30" and then "capture pipe 30 mymovie" there is no sound, despite the fact that I've set "mme_saveWave 2". Without using "cl_avidemo" everything is OK. Is there something that can be done from my side to fix or bypass this?
- Can you please provide me an example of a "capture pipe" command which records a higher quality outcome? I've tried to mess around with it but I always screwed it up and when I started capturing the console said: "fs_write 0" and "no data written" or smg; so I had to recopy my MME folder to "fix it". LOL
- There's a part of a demo of mine, in which nightmare Klesk uses chat and it's really annoying. I've tried "bot_nochat 1" and "cl_noprint 1" but it's still displayed. Oh and actually, the "con_notifyTime -1" is better than the "noprint" because it still let's you see the console commands... however, Klesk is still chatting his BS. Is it that I would have had to disable chat before I started capturing my demo? Or can I disable it somehow within MME? I hope (I can win) ...
- and I've just added this: where can I find documentation about editing Depth of Field feature within MME?
I hope these are somewhat legit questions! Looking forward to hear from you! Keep up the good work! Cheers!

Hey mydoom, welcome! Ugh, I bet I cannot answer these 1. I have never had the problem of a camera that was too fast but I know what you mean. I don't know if it is possible. Probably the speed is always linked to the original movement speed in Quake. 2. Have you downloaded the latest q3mme 1.8 with the newer output possibilities? Also, to me it looks like cl_avidemo 30 is nothing that you should be using in q3mme. 4. I always use con_notifytime -1 while capturing and no console messages show up. cl_noprint should make it look like nobody even posted a chat message during the game, weird that it does not work for you. Making sure you have the console closed in game? Or is the chat sound your problem? 3./5. Please read the tutorials. There are lots of Depth of Field tutorials to try out. Maybe also find something about the capture pipe: q3mme.proboards.com/board/3/tutorialsHave a great day! auri

Hi there auri! Thank you for the welcoming and for the support! I know it's not easy with me writing these longreads I would like to reply to your replies, so that we may get closer to a resolution and I'd stop litter the proboards further xD 1. When I'm in "free camera" mode and trying to setup a view, for example in front of a red armor: I position myself (the camera) close to the item with W,A,S,D but then I figure "hmm... let's get even closer to this, but only just a little bit" -then I press W and I (the camera's position) moves a looot! And it moves so fast! I'd like to set the speed of its movement, because I'm a "precise-freak" and I'd like to setup very legit camera angles I mean really, that's my main reason. I have no problem with the controls and its mechanisms, only this enormous speed. Try to think about it like: it would work for Michael Bay style, but not for the Stanley Kubrick way 2. I found "cl_avidemo" useful only when exporting an avi file with using "capture pipe" because the other way around ("capture avi" or "capture tga") doesn't work for me all the time because the lack of disk space (I know it's personal and not even a real problem, but I'm really limited right now). However, when I use the "capture pipe" command with setting "30" for the FPS count, the result video is just not that smooth at all. I mean it feels like as it would be running on 22 FPS. However, when I use "cl_avidemo 30" before using "capture pipe 30 mymovie" I get a nice and smooth video file, but without sound :/ so I'm kinda F*ed with it (where F of course means fragged:) 4. I used "con_notifytime -1" even in conjunction with "bot_bochat 1" but I still have the bot using chat and actually, not even in the upper left corner in little size, but in a very offensive and XXL way, which you see on the screenshot I've attached: 3./5. I have checked the tutorials, but what I'm exactly looking for is: 3.) Regarding the "mme_pipeCommand" I'd like to see just one example of a higher video quality capture setup. About this I haven't found anything in the tutorials;the only info of this is located under "News" within the "q3mme 1.8" topic and it goes like this: "Ofc for those who want to adjust quality settings and other ffmpeg options we left that opportunity (mme_pipeCommand) as well and you will be able to do everything that you want."Well, I just cannot nail it and would really love to see one example of a command syntax which would result in a higher res and greater bitrate video file. From there, I will be able to tweak it further for myself, I just don't know how start because I don't understand how an exact syntax should look like. 5.) Regarding depth of field I'm curious about the new feature in 1.8 (or it maybe already was implemented in 1.7, not sure) when I press the number 6, I see a "Depth of Field" menu, similar to the 1,2,3's (camera, timeline, etc) menus. I just don't know what keyboard commands can I use there and I haven't found any of it inside in the tutorials. Or there actually is, I just didn't looked well enough? Sorry if it's my fault. Anyways, really big thanks for looking into this matter! I hope I won't annoy anybody with writing and a lot in great detail...that's just my thing:)

1. Speed of camera is hardcoded - you can only change it by recompilation of the mod. Try to hold S and move mouse or hold A and move mouse or hold CTRL and move mouse: you should manually change camera position on certain directions. 2. Do not use cl_avidemo. It limits you with the amount of frames you can capture at once - 1000 fps. So if for example you are capturing video with 40 fps and 30 blur frames then it requires 1200 (30*40) frames, and so the video either will look much slower or it will skip some frames (I cannot say for sure right now). capture commands makes the capture process more precise since it's working with floating point time steps (when cl_avidemo with integer, so 1 + 0.3 = 1) and thus you are able to capture your content with unlimited frames per second. Do not mix cl_avidemo cvar and capture command - use only capture. "- I've found out that if I use "cl_avidemo 30" and then "capture pipe 30 mymovie" there is no sound, despite the fact that I've set "mme_saveWave 2"." - I stated in the release that you have to set it to 2. Did you ever read? 3. If it's showing fs_write 0 then you probably installed everything fine. You had to get ffmpeglog.txt next to quake3mme.exe. Show, what's in the log. 4. mov_chatBox 0. 5. jkhub.org/topic/4176-7-depth-of-field-tutorial/ (maybe auri wants to copy-paste it here?) Read release notes, changelogs and documentations next time - it has half of answers.

The command is for the pipe that you are using, if it's ffmpeg, then just google it? goo.gl/sGSvjd or even goo.gl/W2TjPc

Hi ent! Thanks for your contribution! Let me to reply to some of your points as well: 1. Yeah, I've managed somehow to make a slower movement while holding down the Shift button; it's still not what I want but it's okay. 2. Cool detailed definition about cl_avidemo; however, I didn't really get the part where you quoted me about saying that I've set the "mmeSaveWav to 2" and then asking me that have I ever read your statement in the release notes? Well yes I did; I believe that is why I have set mmeSaveWav to 2. But I'm still confused 3. I'm done with that part. Right now everything is working fine but at least I know that next time, posting the log-content would say much more. 4. I didn't knew that one... and it works like a charm!! THX 5. Your DoF tutorial is much appreciated! And about the ffmpeg usage: sure I've googled it (duh) but I think I screwed up something because when I touched the syntax, the fs_write 0 message came and no capturing was made. For example, I've tried "mme_pipeCommand -medium" but I guess it's not the correct way... therefore I was looking for one example!

1. Do not hold SHIFT, hold S or A or CTRL (only one of them) and move mouse.
You should modify the already existing value. Just modify it in q3config.cfg file directly. The default value of mme_pipeCommand is "ffmpeg -f avi -i - -threads 0 -preset ultrafast -y -pix_fmt yuv444p -crf 23 %o.mp4 2> ffmpeglog.txt". To see the default value of the cvar, just type its name w/o values.
So if you are setting the value to just "-medium" it fails since it cannot find any -medium.exe. I guess you wanted to just modify preset option. So just modify it in the config. You can, ofc, set from the game console, but you will need to write the whole command down.
