Is it possible to do a clip that'll go from first person to camera and then back to first person after a few camera keypoints and then capture it in one take?

Yeah if you want. I would capture it one time in camera mode, one time in first person mode and then put it together in the editing process because you can do it more exact to your needs.
But to do it in one run: Go to the point where you want to start to capture, then run the demo just like you want to capture it and try it out by using the Z and X keys - you also use those to switch between the modes when you are editing in q3mme. So then if you figured out where you want to jump between the modes, go back to the beginning, start capturing by /capture <jpg/tga/png> <fps> <name>. Then close the console and watch all the time and then at the certain points, press the key to switch camera view to first person and other way around. As this might require you to sit in front of the whole capturing process I suggest you the first way of doing this which I described on the top.
Have a nice day. John

lol that's funny. i'm editing my trailer and doing exactly that. just record untill the camera gets to the head and then stop it, then record 1st person then record the camera moving away from the head. if you cut it right in the editing program it will look good.

John I did it this way and it turned out just fine imo. Thanks John.
