On certain defrag maps (the big ones), I get this weird black texture glitch. when the camera moves it flickers. when i get closer to it it goes away, but if i turn around, it does it on the other side. When i'm actually playing in the map I don't get this problem. I built a brand new gaming/editing pc, so the specs have nothing to do with it.

Well, I'd say it's the map. Is it in other maps too? Or maybe it's something from your config if you used the same one on pc and laptop. I think it won't show in a movie if you use enough motion blur / blurframes. I don't know what it is

Well i've seen those maps in movies and those look fine.
If i record frames it will show up on those too.

yeah it's freestyle_88
it also happens on fs_frozen. forgot the first part of the name. it does it on 2 little squares. not as big as freestyle_88

i don't have this problems in any maps but i had it once.. i changed lots of things in my cfg then it fixed.. can you upload your config? maybe i'll find it again.

delete from your cfg or leave at the default value(4) this command: "r_znear" i think that will fix that flickering texture problem..

lol i deleted the whole value and that completely messed up, but i changed it to 4 and it works like a charm =D

Ah, great. I set r_znear to 0.1 in my config so people could do cameras very close to the player without the player model disappearing. 4 is the standard value. But good to know it fixes the wall thing ;D

Those have nothing to do with it Tania, I think.
And by the way, I would set lodbias to -2 and subdivisions definitely to 4.
