Hey everyone, firstly I'd like to say hey, I've been using wolfcam and a bit of fx scripting with mixed results for about a year and finally I have found this website, the scripts thread is like heaven! So thanks, I guess! Anyway I have downloaded a cpma grenade model from gfx.quakeworld.nu/details/289/cpma-grenade/, which is not specifically for wolfcam or either Q3...it's for ezquake. Anyway I have done as follows, using quakelivedec: baseq3/zzz-grenade.cpma.pk3/models/ammo/ grenade.tga grenade_g.tga grenade_r.tga grenade1.md3 Skin: I have also tried .png with the skins, as that is how the defaults are found in pak00.pk3, but to no avail. When I launch wolfcam the model loads nicely but the skin (shader?) does not load, I am not sure why not Any help would be great, I'm really confused by this :s earth_quake

Somebody needs to lighten me up about wolfcam. What does it have to do with quake? I never used that. The name brings RTCW to mind.
Is your only intention to use that grenade skin and have it in all your videos? It looks like the default cpma grenade skin to me. Is it? Are you skinning with scripts or a pk3 file?

From what I understood, png files don't show up to you in-game. Well that's normal since Q3 engine (and quakelive too) load "only" .jpg and .tga. So either choose one of those and it should work. And yeah more info would be appreciated

@auri WolfcamQL is basically the Q3mme for Quake Live and has capabilities for Q3 demos. eq you need to put the shader in the "scripts" folder and also in the "shaderoverride" folder this should alleviate your problem, make sure you don't have any other shaders trying to override that current shader you are trying to apply. Also if you modified any of the locations of files then you need to edit the shader to accommodate the changes you have made.

TO GET CPMA GRENADE MODEL: gfx.quakeworld.nu/details/289/cpma-grenade/open grenadecpma.png in photoshop and do what you like, then I recommend save as targa, .tga you need to create folder structure: models/ammo/grenade1.md3, >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>grenadecpma.tga >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>scripts/ Now make a script: models/ammo/grenadecpma { nopicmip cull disable { map models/ammo/grenadecpma.tga rgbGen identityLighting } } save it as "z-name.shader" in "scripts", then right click "models" and "scripts" and "add to archive". Click ".zip" and type name "zzzz-grenadecpmacustom.pk3". The .zip is essential as pk3 is modified from zip. rar will not work! Now place in wolfcam's baseq3, as it is z- it will be loaded last and will overwrite the models/ammo/grenade1.md3 in pak00.pk3, as well as the skin models/ammo/grenade.tga with the ones in your new folder. I just wanted to write a definitive tutorial so hopefully someone will google it sometime and find this. Sorry raise you got there a little too slow I think the reason it was not working for me originally was that I didn't have the script, but then that I did not remember to click ".zip" archiving (default .rar) which clearly didn't work.

Acrtually .rar compression DOES work, that is how I create my .pk3's Second you do not need .pk3's at all they are just a waste of space, however it may be more organized, but to create your own shader shows that there is no problem with organization. This is just an extra unneeded step.
Also z- is not needed as wolfcam and mme load these paks no matter what, all the z/zz/zzz - does, is it makes the file load last (which again wouldn't be needed if you just leave the files in wolfcam-ql which is more efficient instead of packing a .pk3)
Also you want to keep the files as original as possible so converting from .png to .tga is most likely a bad idea. (for wolfcam you want to keep it in .png)
